Obituary for Bradford D. Robbins

Bradford “Brad” Duane Robbins, 38

HARTFORD CITY – Bradford “Brad” Duane Robbins, 38, passed away on August 21, 2019, following a long battle with mental illness and addiction in his hometown of Hartford City.
He was born on April 28, 1981 in Bluffton, IN to Laurie Lynn (Banter) and Bruce Duane Robbins.
Brad lived and loved with reckless abandon. Anyone who spent more than five minutes with him will attest to his infectious personality. Brad lit up a room when he walked in and left it dim when he walked out. Brad loved Hollywood passionately and could spout off lines from just about every comedy film ever made. He accomplished his dream of making it to LA in the early 2010s and worked as an extra in several television shows and movies, including J. Edgar, CSI and Dexter where his role as “homeless man living under a bridge” did not result in fame, but many laughs to those he told.
Brad spent many years of his childhood at the baseball diamond, football field, or dirt bike track and competed fiercely. A 2000 Blackford County High School graduate, Brad continued higher education at Ivy Tech in Muncie imposing as a Ball State student on a cheerleading scholarship. His competitive spirit carried into adulthood where he mostly worked in sales or trading in the stock market, and was a self-proclaimed “closer”.
Brad loved his family and friends old and new. He leaves behind an unconditionally supportive system devastated by his sudden passing. His mother, sister and brother have stood by him through thick and thin, watching helplessly as his condition eroded over time. May he rest in peace and those who survive him find comfort in the fact that his suffering has come to an end.
Brad will be sadly missed by his mother Laurie Lynn Banter Byall, Apopka, FL; father Bruce Duane Robbins, Ft. Myers, FL; sister Brandy Lynn Mangus (husband Nick, nieces Arianna and Adalena), Apopka, FL; brother Tanner Douglas Byall (wife Danielle), Nashville, TN; brother Bruce Duane Robbins II (niece Ellyanna); grandparents Eugene and Isola Banter, Tom and Diane Byall, Gene and April Adamson, LeRoy and Chelsa Robbins; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brad is preceded in death by his step father Douglas F. Byall, grandmother Beverly S. Banter, grandfather William T. “Bill” Torch and uncle Gabriel V. Torch.
A Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Memorial Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Keplinger Funeral Home to help cover Funeral Expenses, 509 North High Street, Hartford City, IN 47348
