Patricia “Patty” Anne Turner, 84

HARTFORD CITY – Patricia “Patty” Anne Turner, 84, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Hartford City on June 29, 1934 to Dewey Charles Wimmer and Mary Martha (Carr) Wimmer. Both her parents preceded her in death.
Patty married James “Jim” Lee Turner on November 12, 1988 in Hartford City. He precedes her in death on November 13, 1997.
She retired from the Activities Director at Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk and Hartford City. She formerly worked at Community Care Nursing Home. She was named Citizen of the Year, she loved everyone and she was an instructor for the exercise program at Blackford County Senior Citizens Center. She also loved to square dance.
She was a member of the Dunkirk Kiwanis and B.P.W. and Red Hat Society Club. She was a member of Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church in Hartford City.
Patty will be sadly missed by her son, Bruce Leon Strait II of Hartford City; granddaughters, Cassey (husband, Kevin) Strait Medlin, Tracie (husband, Ronnie) Strait Leviner, Sarah Strait, Megan (husband, Ryan) Strait Suman, Krista Strait and Andrew (wife, Tabitha) Jester; 15 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ruth I. Gaskill of Pennville; sister,, Ruth Snider of Marion; several nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Bruce Leon Strait I, step-children, James R. Turner, Victoria Ellenberg and Anita Archier; special friend Paul Baker, siblings, Charles Wimmer, Rosemary Bradfield, June Daniels, William Wimmer, James Wimmer, Virginia DeWitt, Betty Melick, Geraldine Kendall, Melissa Confer and Donna Cooper.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
