Johnnie Ray Cameron, 61

HARTFORD CITY – Johnnie Ray Cameron, 61, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Hartford City on September 5, 1958 to Harry Marcellus Cameron and Blanche Marie (James) Cameron. Both of his parents precede him in death.
Johnnie graduated from Blackford High School in 1977 and served in the United States Army.
He married Susan Doreen (Overla) Cameron on April 8, 1988 in Celina, Ohio.
Johnnie retired from General Cable in Marion where he worked as a machine operator from 1980 until 2011.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Susan D. Cameron of Hartford City; children, Craig T. (wife, Ayane) Opdycke of Phoenix, AZ, Beverly S. Plank of Marion, Johnathon L. Cameron of Hartford City, Michael J. Cook of Roanoke and Sheri R. Bell of Indianapolis; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Harry E. “Bud” (wife, Karen) Cameron of Hartford City, Judy K. (husband, Clyde) Arnold of Hartford City, Velma L. (husband, Frank) Walford of Hartford City and Nancy Jean Taylor of Muncie; brother-in-law, Carl M. Bosworth; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Beverly S. Bosworth and Shirley Scott.
Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City is in charge of arrangements.
