Name: Sarah Sprowl Date: Jan 20, 1926  -  Jul 18, 2010 Obituary: AURORA, ILLINOIS – Sarah Sprowl, died at 6:08 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Jennings Terrace Nursing Home in Aurora, Illinois. She was born on January 20, 1926 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Chauncey King and the late Leota Myrl (Woods) King. She graduated in 1943 from Hartford City High School. Sarah married Leroy B. Sprowl “Bus” on March 2, 1944 in Lakehurst, New Jersey. He precedes her in death on December 16, 2005. She was a homemaker, wife and mother. Sarah was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Christian Home Builders Sunday School Class. She was a former Sunday School Teacher and former Church Board Member and had held many offices. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, reading and her church activities. Sarah will be sadly missed by her daughters, Cherie E. (husband, Dr. Douglas) Shawhan of Wheaton, Illinois; Melanie A. (husband, Jeff) Bonham of Oswego, Illinois; grandchildren, Ryan M. Shawhan, Colin M. (wife, Renee) Shawhan, Jacob (wife, Kristen) Bonham and Javan M. Bonham; sister, Alberta Ferguson of Upland; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Earline Cook. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
