Name: Richard Gibson Date: Sep 08, 1943  -  Jul 16, 2010 Obituary: HARTFORD CITY – Richard Duane Gibson “Gibby”, 66, died on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 6:44 a.m. at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bluffton on September 8, 1943 to the late Harry Gibson and the late Mildred E. (Minor) Gibson. Richard was raised in Pennville and graduated from Pennville High School in 1961 “Home of the Mighty Bulldogs”. He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. He married Anna D. (McCowan) Gibson on November 6, 1965 in Dunkirk, Indiana. She precedes him in death on June 20, 2010. Richard retired from Westinghouse in Muncie in 1998 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the North Delaware Baptist Church in Muncie and a lifetime member of the N.R.A. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Marvin L. (wife, Laura) Buckner of Upland; Mike F. (wife, Carolyn) Buckner of Hartford City; Randy W. Buckner (companion, Paula Hatton) of Hartford City; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Barry A. (wife, Jody) Gibson of Lafayette; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son Mark E. Buckner, one grandchild and brother, Ray Gibson. Funeral service for Richard will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City , IN. with Pastor James Oliver McCowan and Pastor James L. Marlow officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
