Name: John Rouse Sr. Date: Aug 12, 1936  -  Jul 04, 2010 Obituary: HARTFORD CITY – John Gordon Rouse Sr., 73, died at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Blackford Community Hospital. He was born on August 12, 1936 in Blackford County to the late Charles O. Rouse and the late Crystal F. (Futrell) Rouse. He served in the United States Navy. John married Teresa R. (Charnley) Rouse on August 6, 1960 at the St. John’s Rectory in Hartford City by Father Clary. He retired from Yorktown Tool & Die after 15 years of service. He also worked at Hughes Pic-A-Pac for 8 years. He was a member of St. John’s The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. John will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Teresa R. Rouse of Hartford City; daughters, Lori A Speidel (companion, Bruce Brake) of Hartford City; Beverly M. (husband, Brent) McGunegill of Eaton; Kimberly D. (husband, Mike) Chaney of Rossville; Melonie I. (husband, Kirk) Townsend of Hartford City; son, John Gordon (wife, Elizabeth) Rouse, II of Dunkirk; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene (husband, Jerry) Palmer of Marion; Gloria Carder of Naples, Florida; brothers, Joseph A. (wife, Mary) Rouse of Franktown, Colorado; Stanley M. Rouse of Aurora, Colorado; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanne Sutton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Paul Cochran at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. John will be cremated and a private burial will follow at a later date at Hartford City Cemetery in the family Rouse Lot. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City.
