Obituary:
HAGERSTOWN – James “Jim” Wesley Malone, 83, died at 11:08 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Reid Hospital and Health Care Services in Richmond, Indiana. He was born on November 13, 1926 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Tull Malone and the late Grace Rebecca (Hines) Malone. Jim graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1944. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. He received his Master’s Degree from Butler University and Indiana University. He also had his principal, superintendent and counselors licenses and certifications. He had served as a principal in Kokomo, Shelbyville, Hammond and Hagerstown School Districts. He retired in 1990 as a Connersville 7th grade English and Math Teacher. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Jim married Lois (Gullett) Malone on April 5, 1953 in Mt. Vernon Ohio at the First Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New, Castle and a member of the ISTA. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, Lois Malone of Hagerstown; son, Craig B. Malone of Muncie; daughter, Carol Malone Wyatt of Pontiac, Michigan; grandchildren, Shannon Walker, Matthew Wyatt, James Malone, Nathan Malone and Rebecca Malone; son-in-law, Steve K. Wyatt of Waterford, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Paul Dennis Malone, granddaughter, Kelly Beth Wyatt, 10 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1727 Grand Avenue, New Castle, Indiana. Funeral service in New Castle will be at 6 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at the church. Graveside funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Central Daylight Savings Time, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Memory Gardens in Rensselaer. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Central Daylight Savings Time, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Assembly of God Church, 615 W. Clark St., Rensselaer, Indiana.
