Name: David Townsend Date: Jul 03, 1923  -  Feb 25, 2010 Obituary: EATON – David Russell Townsend “Russ”, 86, died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Bridgewater Centre in Hartford City. Russ was born July 3, 1923 in Hartford City to the late John L. Townsend and the late Gertrude (Crockett) Townsend. He married Lucyanna (Reitenour) Townsend on July 25, 1959 at Trinity United Methodist Church. She precedes him in death on June 11, 2008. Russ formerly worked for the Hartford City Police Department, and was a Blackford County Farmer and a Truck Driver. He was also an electrician. He attended the Baptist Church and was a member of IBEW Local #855. He enjoyed his snow mobile, motor cycling and gardening. He will be sadly missed by his son, David R. (wife, Lois) Townsend of Eaton; daughter, Susan (husband, John) Hutchinson of Galion, Ohio; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and brothers, Alfred Townsend, Chester Townsend and sister, Violet Townsend. Visitation for Russ will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City, IN 47348 Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hall of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
